Research methods applied: analysis and synthesis of scientific literature (to clarify the key concepts of the study), systematization (in order to identify existing scientific approaches to solving the problem), theoretical generalization (to formulate the final provisions and conclusions). Trauma-informed care is an intervention and organizational approach that focuses on the impact of trauma on individuals and how it influences their response to behavioral health services throughout the prevention and treatment process. While there are various definitions and models for implementing trauma-informed care in medical-social organizations, it typically incorporates three key elements: recognizing the prevalence of trauma; understanding how trauma affects everyone involved with the program, organization, or system ‒ including the workforce; and applying this knowledge in practical ways. Trauma-informed care is a commitment to enhancing medical-social staff competence and establishing programmatic standards and clinical guidelines that facilitate the delivery of trauma-sensitive services. A key principle of trauma-informed care is community engagement, involving clients and staff in the ongoing development and delivery of trauma-informed services. When these groups are included in the process, they are more likely to feel empowered, invested in, and satisfied with the care they receive. Implementing trauma-informed care can significantly enhance processes related to screening, assessment, treatment planning, and placement, while also reducing the risk of retraumatization. By improving communication between clients and treatment providers, trauma-informed care clarifies misunderstanding on the client’s reactions, ensuring that appropriate referrals for trauma-specific treatment are made.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3034INNOVATIVE FUNDRAISING TOOLS: CROWDFUNDING, ONLINE PLATFORMS, NFT2025-10-23T09:29:26+03:00Yurii BONDARENKOsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comNataliia MYROSHNICHENKOsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
In times of social crises and instability, strategic fundraising becomes an important practical tool for ensuring financial stability and socio-economic development. In the context of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the combination of displacement and disability creates unique challenges that require comprehensive approaches to social integration. The purpose of the study is to outline the main directions of support provided by civil society organizations and to examine their content, forms, methods, and interaction with other social policy stakeholders at the community level. The study generalizes current scholarly contributions and the practical experience of non-governmental organizations in supporting IDPs with disabilities. Six interrelated areas of support are identified: material and household assistance, psychosocial support, legal and advocacy services, educational and professional development, cultural and civic engagement, and digital inclusion. Each area is elaborated in terms of its content, specific forms and methods of work, and the range of actors involved in implementation. The analysis emphasizes that the integrated combination of these areas creates conditions for overcoming isolation, fostering a sense of safety and belonging, and promoting community cohesion. The practical significance of the study lies in the potential application of its conclusions to project activities of civil society organizations, the design of social integration programs for IDPs with disabilities, and the establishment of crosssectoral cooperation at the community level. Special emphasis is placed on digitalization as a tool for improving service accessibility in rural communities. The findings also have implications for shaping state policy on social support for vulnerable populations during the war and in the post-war recovery period. The experience of initiatives implemented, in particular by the East Europe Foundation, underscores the importance of combining social support with organizational capacity-building and digital solutions to strengthen community inclusiveness.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3036FACILITATION TECHNOLOGIES IN SOCIAL WORK WITH PARENTS RAISING CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES2025-10-23T09:42:31+03:00Tetyana DEMYDENKOsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comVladyslav IVANENKOsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
This paper presents an analysis of the issue of social support for parents of children with disabilities as an important part of modern social work. The aim of this study is to identify the specific features of using facilitation technologies in working with parents of children with disabilities. To achieve this goal, a theoretical analysis of academic sources in the fields of social work, psychology, and pedagogy was conducted, alongside practical experience in applying facilitation technologies. It has been established that the implementation of facilitation technologies for parents of children with disabilities is preceded by a diagnosis of their needs, difficulties, problems, and psycho-emotional states. Various types of parental support were identified and analyzed, including social, socio-pedagogical, and psychological support. The methods, forms, and technologies of social work with this category of parents were examined. Classification criteria for social work technologies with parents were outlined, such as the main goal of the technology, the number of participants, and the nature of their interaction. Two main groups of technologies in social work with parents raising children with disabilities were characterized: training and psycho-pedagogical education, and facilitation and emotional support for parents. It was found that the goal of the first group is to increase parental competence and involvement in child-rearing, while the second group aims to harmonize parents’ psycho-emotional states and to unlock their personal potential. Facilitation technologies are aimed at supporting individuals, groups, families, or communities by creating conditions for the activation of inner resources, development, self-realization, effective interaction, and positive motivation for action. The main tasks of facilitation technologies for parents of children with disabilities were identified. The effectiveness of using facilitation as a supportive technology in both individual and group forms of work with parents was substantiated.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3037USING STRENGTH-BASED APPROACHES IN MEDIATION: SUPPORTING CLIENT RESOURCES2025-10-23T09:46:11+03:00Iryna YENHALYCHEVAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The article explores the possibilities of integrating a strength-based approach into the mediation process as a tool for supporting clients’ resourcefulness in the context of social work. The aim is to find out how focusing on the strengths of the individual contributes to effective conflict resolution and at the same time supports the personal development, autonomy and social adaptation of clients. The article examines the main provisions of the theory focused on the strengths of clients, reveals the essence of mediation, its principles and ethical principles in accordance with the State Standard for Social Mediation Services (Mediation). Special attention is paid to the role of the mediator in identifying the client’s internal resources, in particular through the use of open questions, reflective listening, positive reinforcement, visualization techniques and a narrative approach. It is shown that mediation in this format goes beyond a simple dispute resolution technique and turns into a resource practice that activates the clients’ potential for change. It is substantiated that the support of positive self-esteem, belief in one’s own strengths and social inclusion are important results of the application of this approach. The conclusion states that strength-based mediation contributes to the enhancement of the client’s subjectivity and creates conditions for making decisions that meet his real needs and values. Prospects for further research are seen in studying the effectiveness of such an approach in different types of mediation and developing tools for practical implementation.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3038THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ASPECT OF ORGANIZATIONAL AND PEDAGOGICAL CONDITIONS OF NON-FORMAL EDUCATION FOR SUBJECTS OF SOCIAL AND PEDAGOGICAL SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM2025-10-23T10:00:28+03:00Nataliia ZHULAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of organizational and pedagogical conditions for nonformal education of subjects providing social and pedagogical support to children with autism. The importance of nonformal education is substantiated as a flexible mechanism for professional development of teachers, social workers, parents, and other specialists working with children with autism. Non-formal education promotes the formation of professional and personal competencies, creates conditions for experience exchange and implementation of innovative methodologies, which is crucial for effective integration of children into society. The study identifies and analyzes in detail three main organizational and pedagogical conditions necessary for effective non-formal education of subjects of social and pedagogical support. The first condition involves increasing accessibility and optimizing multi-format educational resources, such as trainings, seminars, online courses, conferences, etc. The second condition concerns stimulating professional motivation and the desire for learning through active engagement in non-formal education. The third condition entails enriching educational and methodological support and implementing innovative forms and methods of teaching, particularly through the use of modern information and communication technologies. It is emphasized that the implementation of these conditions will contribute to creating a favorable environment for the training of specialists, developing their knowledge, skills, and personal qualities, which will directly impact the quality of social and pedagogical support for children with autism. The article also outlines prospects for further research, particularly the need for a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of online, offline, and hybrid forms of non-formal education.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3039CLASSIFICATION OF SOCIAL WORK METHODS (NORMATIVE AND LEGAL ASPECT)2025-10-23T10:13:09+03:00Iryna IVANOVAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The article highlights the results of research of Ukrainian and foreign scientific and practice-oriented approaches to the classification of social work methods. The need to develop a practice-oriented classification of social work methods based on the regulatory and legal support for the activities of social sphere organizations (state standards for the provision of social services, the Law of Ukraine «On Social Services», professional standards of social workers and social work specialists) is identified. It is noted that in the evolution of the concept of «social work method» certain patterns are observed that reflect the conditionality of their use. The main features that form the basis of the classification in accordance with the definition of Social Work as a professional activity and its purpose are characterized. Social work methods are defined as methods of orderly activity of social workers and social work specialists based on a personally oriented approach aimed at meeting the personal needs of vulnerable groups of the population and individuals/families who are in difficult life circumstances. Emphasis is placed on the correlation and coherence of the system of basic social services, applied technologies of social work and methods of social work. The classification of social work methods within the framework of regulatory and legal support for the activities of social sphere organizations represents two groups of methods: interdisciplinary (organizational, organizational and legal, administrative: methods of personnel management of social sphere organizations and methods of the clientele system, recipients of social services; methods of research in social work; socio-pedagogical; informational and explanatory; psychological methods of social work); disciplinary (professional) methods of social work (individual, group, collective, mass social work, social methods). The classification of social work methods can be considered as a system of elements that are closely interconnected, influence each other, are characterized by integrity, orderliness, flexibility, correspondence of time and place of application, and hierarchy. The integrity of the system of methods creates conditions for the stability and sustainability of practice-oriented social work, the inclusion of new elements in it that correspond to certain factors of the functioning of social services, the expansion of opportunities for the manifestation of creativity, flexibility of the professional activities of social workers and social work specialists in implementing a personally oriented, individual, personalized approach to the personality of the client, recipient of social services.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3040THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON THE FORMATION OF A RESPONSIBLE ATTITUDE TOWARDS HEALTH IN ADOLESCENTS2025-10-23T10:16:46+03:00Olena KARPENKOsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comTеtiana SPIRINAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comMaryna LEKHOLETOVAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comOlha SHVEDsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
Adolescents who are at a certain stage of social and psychophysical development have different social identities, which, in combination with individual experience, affects the ability to search for and access information of various content. The features of the implementation of the social and pedagogical activities of a social worker in an educational institution in the context of forming a responsible attitude towards one’s own health in adolescents and increasing the positive potential of social media, through the development of media literacy among adolescents, conducting active educational activities in social networks, and integrating digital innovations into the activities of social workers, in order to create a safe information environment, are emphasized.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3041SOCIAL POLICY AND SOCIAL WORK IN THE FIELD OF PROTECTION AND SUPPORT OF MILITARY PERSONNEL UNDER ARMED CONFLICT CONDITIONS2025-10-23T10:22:00+03:00Olena KOLOMIIETSsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The protection and support of military personnel in the context of armed conflict is becoming increasingly relevant as a key area of state social policy. The provision of comprehensive social assistance within military units is a necessary condition for strengthening the country’s defense capabilities. This article analyzes the specifics of implementing social policy aimed at the protection and support of military personnel and defines the role of social work as an instrument for its practical realization. The necessity of eliminating discriminatory barriers, introducing gender-sensitive approaches, and ensuring equal service conditions for women and men is substantiated, which contributes to enhancing social justice within the Armed Forces of Ukraine and reinforcing democratic values in Ukrainian society. It is established that the ongoing armed conflict in Ukraine requires the integration of strategic (political) and practical (social) approaches to ensure an effective response to the needs and challenges faced by military personnel. It is emphasized that effective support for service members within military units is possible only through the implementation of interrelated and complementary directions of social work. These include socio-psychological, socio-pedagogical, socio-legal, medico-social, socio-household, preventive, organizational-coordinating, and informational-educational directions, which together form a holistic system of support addressing key aspects of military personnel’s life. The interconnection and balanced implementation of these directions enhance the overall efficiency of social work, enabling timely responses to the needs of service members, the creation of favorable conditions for service, and the maintenance of their resilience under martial law. Special attention is drawn to the importance of expanding the scope of social work to cover not only military personnel and their families but also all individuals involved in the sphere of military service.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3042CANISTHERAPY IN SOCIAL WORK: AN INNOVATIVE RESOURCE FOR SUPPORTING VULNERABLE GROUPS2025-10-23T10:25:52+03:00Nataliia KOLІADAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comOksana KRAVCHENKOsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comNataliia LEVCHENKOsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The article examines canistherapy as an innovative form of socio-psychological support that is gaining particular relevance in the context of martial law, widespread psychological trauma among the population, and growing psychosocial challenges in Ukraine. The analysis of Ukrainian regulatory and legal documents in the fields of mental health support, rehabilitation, and health care allows us to establish that there are defined guarantees and conditions for preserving citizens’ mental health, ways of emergency response in crisis situations, and social services in the form of psychosocial support for various categories of citizens (children and youth, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons, the elderly, veterans and their families, etc.), as well as the implementation of comprehensive rehabilitation by type, including for those affected by the consequences of war. Legislation regulating the protection of animals, sanitary and hygienic conditions of interaction with them, and the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases has also been studied (the Law of Ukraine «On the Animal World», the Law of Ukraine «On Environmental Protection», the Law of Ukraine «On the Protection of Animals from Cruelty», the Law of Ukraine «On the Public Health System», the Law of Ukraine «On the Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases»). It is emphasized that amid the many opportunities for advanced training from various sources, internal organizational work is needed within the social service institution. A relevant pilot program is presented, which includes diagnostic, transformative, and environmental components. The diagnostic component of the proposed pilot program implements a data-driven management approach. The article presents the results of a corresponding diagnosis using the N. Hall methodology, which was applied in the pilot institution. The transformative component is developed based on a social-emotional learning model. The practice of using the Gemini artificial intelligence to generate standard emotional intelligence training content and its subsequent adaptation to the diagnostic data in the pilot institution is presented. The training focuses on deepening emotional awareness, emotion management, improving the skills of recognizing others’ emotions, and developing self-motivation and empathy. The experience of using artificial intelligence to generate a variable set of cases that reflect different client emotions is also presented. The use of AI to adapt training materials to the specific needs of a social service institution is considered an approach that can increase the effectiveness of the training and achieve maximum benefit for the professional activities of the institution’s social workers. It is substantiated that the effectiveness of the emotional intelligence development program for social workers depends not only on the training but also on the overall organizational environment of the institution. The author analyses the content-related, structural, and methodological changes in the programme, reflecting a gradual transition from a normatively prescribed model to an adaptive, integrated system of training based on competency-based and participatory approaches. The study is grounded in a retrospective analysis of curricula, licensing and accreditation outcomes, the provisions of the 2021 Sectoral Standard of Professional Pre-Higher Education, as well as annual monitoring data of the educational process involving key stakeholders. Special attention is paid to identifying mechanisms for engaging students, employers, graduates, and academic staff in the process of curriculum renewal. The article highlights key transformations of the curriculum, including the strengthening of interdisciplinary integration, the introduction of new educational components in response to current challenges in social work (war, internally displaced persons, increased demand for crisis intervention), the expansion of the elective part of the programme, and the actual implementation of student choice. The author proposes a vision of the programme as an example of an integrated model based on the principles of gradual development, professional relevance, and participatory governance in education. The findings confirm that the renewed 2024 programme demonstrates a qualitatively new level of content and logic in constructing the educational trajectory, meeting both the requirements of the professional standard and the expectations of the community. The purpose of this research was to explore the organizational and legal principles of communication among participants in cross-sector partnership in social work with addicted adolescents in Ukraine. Methodology. Given that social work with individuals exhibiting addictive behavior is a complex and multilayered system, the authors propose a systems-based approach for both exploratory and organizational efforts in this field. To deepen the understanding of the legal framework of social work, the document analysis method was employed in the article, which allowed for an assessment of the current regulatory system governing social work in Ukraine with individuals suffering from alcohol and drug addiction, as well as gambling addiction. The researchers were also able to identify a legal vacuum in social work with individuals of all age groups suffering from internet addiction and propose their own approach to addressing this gap. In addition, the study utilized conceptual analysis and statistical data analysis, which helped to form a comprehensive picture of how social work with addicted adolescents is organized in Ukraine. The authors emphasize the urgent need to improve the current system of social work with addicted individuals, with a specific focus on youth and the digital environment. Conclusions. The research revealed that the root of addictive behavior among youth and adolescents lies in a crisis of social communication, which arises from social trauma and is often compensated by psychoactive or audiovisual stimuli. If the primary cause of addiction is understood as a disruption in social communication, then rather than focusing solely on a single provider of social services, it is necessary to implement a partnership among public, governmental, and municipal organizations as a comprehensive strategy for solving social problems. Analyzing the forms and structures of such partnerships could become a promising direction for further research.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3047CONCEPTUAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE TECHNOLOGY FOR FORMING FACILITATION COMPETENCE OF FUTURE SOCIAL WORKER2025-10-23T10:48:00+03:00Artur MOLDOVANOVsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The relevance of the problem of the presented article is due to the objective challenges of today, associated with crisis situations of modern stressful life, which cause anxiety, frustration, and deprivation of the population, which requires its social readaptation, assistance, and support, which are included in the professional functionality of a modern social worker with developed facilitation competence. It is shown that VR/AR create a safe and controlled space where real-life situations can be simulated, ensuring active engagement of children in learning and socialization processes. The interdisciplinary nature of VR/AR technologies is emphasized, combining pedagogical, psychological, and social instruments and forming new opportunities for personal development. Conclusions. It is concluded that VR/AR technologies cannot fully replace traditional methods of social work and rehabilitation; however, they significantly expand the toolkit of inclusive practice. The use of immersive technologies contributes to enhancing motivation, developing adaptive and socialization skills of children with special educational needs, and strengthening their psychological resilience. Prospects for further research are identified, particularly the development of efficiency criteria for VR/AR interventions and the study of their impact on different target groups.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3049FEATURES OF FORMATION OF CONFLICT COMPETENCE OF COLLEGE STUDENTS OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM «SOCIAL WORK»2025-10-23T10:54:56+03:00Oleksandra SOROKINAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The article analyzes the social prerequisites for the increase in the level of conflict in Ukrainian society, caused by the full-scale invasion. The aim of the article is to highlight the features of the formation of professional competence in predicting, managing and resolving conflicts by students of the educational program «Social Work» at the level of a professional junior bachelor of the Economic and Legal Professional College of Zaporizhzhia National University. The research methodology is presented by a content analysis of students’ works dedicated to resolving various types of conflict situations and their vision of strategies for prevention, conflict management and its constructive resolution. The scientific novelty lies in highlighting the problems that college students face in the process of forming conflictological competence, including difficulties in identifying certain types of conflict or their prerequisites; «selfreference effect»; reliance on intuitive vision when analyzing the conflict situation as a whole; «transfer» and pronounced personal preferences for one of the parties to the conflict; dichotomous perception of causes and actions, based on the «right-wrong» framework, reliance on the «winner»-«loser» strategy, difficulties in mastering collaboration and collective activity techniques. A system of measures aimed at improving the quality of conflict competence formation is proposed: qualitative assimilation of academic knowledge; scientific analysis of real conflicts of various types; conducting discussions and debates, trainings and business games; awareness and understanding of conflict as a phenomenon that is immanently present in social life, as well as the value of constructive conflict resolution and building interaction when it occurs; expansion of the student’s role set; analysis of the entire conflict situation as a whole, including analysis of one’s own behavior, thoughts and emotions.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3050SOFT SKILLS AS A FACTOR OF SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL ADAPTATION OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS AND EMIGRANTS2025-10-23T10:59:51+03:00Iryna TSYRKOVNYKOVAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The purpose of the study is to analyze the role of soft skills in the process of socio-psychological adaptation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and Ukrainian emigrants. The modern world is marked by global crises, wars and mass migration processes. After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, millions of Ukrainians became internally displaced persons (IDPs), and a significant part was forced to leave the country. The resettlement situation is accompanied not only by material, but also by serious psychological difficulties: the loss of social roles, familiar surroundings, work, professional identity. In such conditions, the decisive factor in adaptation becomes soft skills – the ability to communicate, manage emotions, work in a team, be flexible and open to change. If “hard skills” (professional competencies) may lose their relevance due to differences in legislation or certification, then “soft skills” remain universal tools for integration into a new environment. The analysis shows that among all soft skills, the most significant for Ukrainian migrants are emotional intelligence, adaptability, intercultural competence and trainability. It is these skills that have the greatest impact on the speed of integration, the level of psychological well-being and the possibility of resuming professional activity. - Soft skills are a key factor in the successful socio-psychological adaptation of IDPs and emigrants. - Emotional intelligence, adaptability, intercultural competence and trainability have the greatest impact. - The development of flexible skills should become a component of integration programs for Ukrainian migrants. - The prospect of further research is to study the role of soft skills in the professional self-realization of Ukrainians abroad, as well as the development of educational courses for their development.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3051PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF SOCIAL WORKERS DEVELOPMENT IN MODERN UKRAINE: FORMATION OF DIGITAL COMPETENCES AND THE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE2025-10-23T11:10:31+03:00Iryna CHAIKAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comOlena MALOVICHKOsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comYevhen TSOKURsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The article is devoted to examining the peculiarities of developing digital competences within the system of professional competence of social workers in contemporary Ukraine. The purpose of the study is to analyze the development of professional competence of social workers in modern Ukraine through the formation of digital competences and the acquisition of advanced digital technologies, particularly artificial intelligence. The research methodology incorporates a set of general scientific and specialized methods (in particular, the analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the use of artificial intelligence in the activities of social work professionals). The scientific novelty of the study lies in substantiating the idea that digital competence serves as an overarching component built upon other structural elements of the professional competence of a social worker. In other words, the development of competences necessary for professional activity, professional communication competence, and personal competence cannot be fully realized in today’s information and networked society without the acquisition of digital competence. Conclusions. The development of competences essential for performing the professional duties of a social worker presupposes the acquisition of skills in using modern electronic devices and relevant software. The development of professional communication competence of social work specialists in the contemporary world is also directly connected with established digital competences. In particular, such specialists can interact with clients remotely by means of platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. Digital competence also plays a supportive and instrumental role in the processes of developing the personal competence of social workers, enabling them to conduct effective searches for information, including digitized sources, which provide the basis for reflection on both life and professional experience. At present, there are possibilities for applying artificial intelligence-based programs in the activities of social work specialists. Artificial intelligence can become a powerful tool for social work professionals in reducing bureaucracy, optimizing working time, and improving the quality of social services provision. However, AI also carries risks: according to recent studies by the London School of Economics, most AI models engaged in analyzing client cases for the assignment of medical and social services demonstrated gender bias, inadequately assessing (underestimating or, in some cases, removing) the needs of women, which could result in denying them access to essential services.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3052OCCUPATIONAL BURNOUT AMONG LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS: PSYCHO-EMOTIONAL, ORGANIZATIONAL, AND SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF DEVELOPMENT2025-10-23T11:15:35+03:00Vadym GRACHUKsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comNataliya KARPINSKAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comBorys CHUPRYNSKYIsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The article explores the factors, consequences, and preventive strategies related to occupational burnout among law enforcement officers. The aim of the study is to identify the key psycho-emotional, organizational, and social determinants of burnout development in police personnel working under increased stress. The study employed general scientific methods of cognition: analysis, synthesis, comparison, systematization, interpretation, generalization. The findings reveal that the primary causes of burnout include excessive regulation of activities; high or vague job demands; instability in the work environment; and ongoing exposure to traumatic events. It has been proven that vulnerability to burnout increases among officers with low levels of social support; a tendency toward self-analysis; an introverted temperament; or fear of losing professional status. Burnout develops in stages –through the phases of tension, resistance, and exhaustion—and is accompanied by reduced personal accomplishment; cognitive impairments; depersonalization; and psychosomatic disorders. The consequences of burnout span psychological, physiological, social, and organizational domains. In particular, the study identifies apathy; anxiety; loss of empathy; sleep disturbances; cardiovascular symptoms; alienation; conflict-proneness; staff turnover; and reduced unit cohesion. Emphasis is placed on the importance of systemic prevention, which includes individual counseling; rehabilitation programs; development of personal resources; and supportive leadership. Special attention is given to positive international practices, where three-tier intervention models and legal recognition of burnout as an occupational risk are implemented. The practical value of the study lies in the development of a comprehensive, multi-level prevention system tailored to the working conditions of Ukrainian law enforcement personnel.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3053COMPREHENSIVE SEXUAL EDUCATION AS A TOOL FOR FORMING SEXUAL CULTURE IN ADOLESCENCE2025-10-23T11:19:24+03:00Zhanna PETROCHKOsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comValeriy PETROVYCHsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comVadym LIUTYIsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
During adolescence, which is accompanied by intense physiological, psychological, and social changes, an important factor in safe adulthood is the availability of scientifically based, comprehensive, and accessible sex education. The formation of sexual culture in adolescence is an important condition for the socialization of a young person and his readiness for healthy, responsible relationships. The article considers comprehensive sexual education as an effective tool for forming sexual culture among adolescents. The content and principles of comprehensive sexual education, its role in the development of knowledge, attitudes and behavior of young people regarding sexual and reproductive health, gender equality and human rights are analyzed. It has been determined that the key principles of comprehensive sexuality education are: scientific and reliable information, adaptation to the psychosocial development of adolescents, gender sensitivity, human rights and inclusion, and a partnership approach. Sex education is a key factor in shaping the sexual culture of youth, which includes not only knowledge, but also moral values, attitudes, risky behavior, and social orientations. Thanks to this, adolescents are given the opportunity to build healthy, responsible, and ethical relationships, which has a positive impact on their well-being and the development of society as a whole. The authors emphasize that the successful implementation of comprehensive sexuality education requires interdisciplinary interaction: an educational component, a medical component, a social component, and cooperation with non-governmental organizations. As an example of the implementation of sexual education in secondary education institutions and in the activities of nongovernmental organizations, the impact of the comprehensive preventive «Program 15» on the formation of participants’ correct ideas about socially dangerous phenomena and sexually transmitted diseases, development of safe behavior skills, overcoming critical situations and making responsible decisions, formation of values of health and personal dignity.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3054STATE EMPLOYMENT POLICY AS AN ELEMENT OF SOCIAL PROTECTION2025-10-23T11:23:40+03:00Olha BOIKOsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comViktoriіa POLІEKHINAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The article examines the current state, challenges, and development prospects of the state employment policy in Ukraine in the context of its social purpose. The role of employment policy is substantiated as a key instrument of the national social protection system, contributing to the prevention of poverty, social exclusion, and economic marginalization of vulnerable population groups. It is emphasized that an effective state employment policy is one of the determining factors in ensuring social stability, improving the quality of life, and promoting sustainable economic development. The content of active and passive state regulation measures in the field of employment is revealed, including professional training and retraining programs, subsidies for the creation of new jobs, and unemployment benefits. The article analyzes their effectiveness and outlines existing limitations, such as the low coverage of target groups, insufficient targeting of assistance, and the fragmented implementation of programs. Special attention is paid to identifying the main challenges of the domestic employment model, including structural labor market imbalances, the expansion of informal employment, labor migration, insufficient funding of employment programs, and institutional inefficiency of the responsible authorities. The article proposes directions for improving state employment policy, including enhanced inter-agency coordination, modernization of the regulatory framework, involvement of social partners, and expansion of financial instruments to support employment. Social platforms have become a place not just to communicate but to learn as well which prompts the need to develop pedagogically relevant and UX-oriented content models. Six educational accounts were analyzed (@bbclearningenglish, @cambridgeenglish, @ewa.english, @annavelychko_english, @englishwithlucy, @ learnenglishwithmusicsg) which made it possible to identify effective strategies for presenting educational material and typical mistakes in interacting with users. The strengths of these accounts include consistency, interactivity, visual appeal, and motivational potential. The weaknesses include fragmented content, insufficient structuring according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), lack of bilingualism, and limited adaptation for Ukrainianspeaking audience. Due to research findings a UX-oriented model of an Instagram account for daily English language learning has been presented, integrating the academic structure of BBC and Cambridge resources, the interactivity of mobile applications (EWA), and the creativity of educational blogs. The model content is structured for levels from A1 for beginners to C1 for those possessing high level of language proficiency and is presented in formats like Reels, carousels, Stories, Highlights, motivational posts, and live broadcasts. It features bilingualism (UA+EN), serial posts, convenient navigation, and gamification elements. Such approach provides users with user-friendly, mobile, and systematic learning, promotes the formation of long-term English language skills, and increases audience motivation and engagement. In brief, the proposed model is a good example of how a well-designed Instagram account can become a new type of educational environment meeting the needs of Ukrainian users.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3056SOCIAL RESILIENCE AS A STRATEGIC PRINCIPLE FOR TRANSFORMING THE SOCIAL SERVICES SYSTEM IN UKRAINE2025-10-23T11:31:37+03:00Vladyslava LIUBARETSsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comAndrii HRYNKIVsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comYevhen PANIUSHKINsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The article analyzes the evolution of the concept of resilience from individual characteristics to a multisystem approach encompassing personal, family, community, and institutional levels. The practical implementation of the resilient approach is examined through the establishment of a network of Resilience Centers as an innovative organizational model. The purpose of the article is to analyze reformist approaches in the social sphere of Ukraine through the prism of the resilience principle, with a focus on new institutional models and the transformation of the managerial logic of social services under wartime conditions. A fundamental transformation of the managerial paradigm of social services is analyzed: the shift from the paternalistic Soviet-type model to a partnership-based system and the introduction of a human-centered approach. Social resilience is studied as a determining principle of systemic reform of the national social services system of Ukraine in the context of armed conflict. Resilience Centers are conceptualized as the institutional operationalization of the resilience approach in social policy. The results of the study can be used to improve the strategy for the development of Ukraine’s social sphere, to develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of social reforms, and to adapt international experience in building resilient social protection systems. Social resilience functions as an integral conceptual framework defining the transition to a proactive preventive approach oriented toward the development of human and social capital. The network of Resilience Centers demonstrates a paradigmatic shift toward integrated multisystem support that synthesizes psychosocial interventions and community mobilization processes.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3057SOCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE ELDERLY AND INTERGENERATIONAL SOLIDARITY IN THE CONTEXT OF DEMOGRAPHIC AGEING: WESTERN EUROPEAN EXPERIENCE2025-10-23T11:36:15+03:00Liudmyla HUSAKsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comLesia MARTIROSYANsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
The relevance of this study is driven by the rapid increase in the proportion of older adults in the demographic structure of society and the complex challenges arising from this process. The article focuses on historically shaped approaches to intergenerational interaction, particularly the transformation of state institutions, family models, and social practices in ensuring care and support for the elderly. The aim of the article is to conduct a retrospective analysis of social support practices for older people as a mechanism of intergenerational interaction in the traditions of Western European civilization. Special attention is given to the role of these practices in shaping the society’s adaptive capacity in response to contemporary demographic challenges associated with population ageing. The study applies an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating historical-comparative, structural-functional, and hermeneutic methods. A retrospective analysis of Western European practices of social support for the elderly is conducted in the context of evolving social institutions. The originality of this approach lies in interpreting social support institutions not only as mechanisms of protection but also as factors that reconfigure (and in some cases weaken) the natural basis of intergenerational interaction. It is argued that institutional support, as a form of “formalized solidarity,” coexists with “emotional solidarity” rooted in family experience. When the former begins to dominate the latter, functional substitution occurs, which in the long term leads to the erosion of the intergenerational contract. The retrospective analysis reveals that intergenerational solidarity and various forms of old-age support have deep historical roots in the European tradition, functioning not only as a humanitarian norm but also as a key social mechanism for adapting society to demographic change. The evolution of these practices highlights the importance of preserving the core principles of intergenerational interaction–such as responsibility and solidarity–which contribute to the integration of older people into social life and support intergenerational balance. The findings may serve as a conceptual basis for developing strategies of active ageing rooted in historical experience and relevant to the challenges of the 21st century.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025 http://journals.vnu.volyn.ua/index.php/humanitas/article/view/3058EDUCATIONAL SPACE AS A RESOURCE FOR SOCIAL SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS IN TERRITORIAL COMMUNITIES2025-10-23T11:42:34+03:00Svitlana CHERNETAsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comOlena BIELKINA-KOVALCHUKsomikova.helvetica@gmail.comAndrii KOLOSOKsomikova.helvetica@gmail.com
In the article, the educational space is considered as a multidimensional environment that combines educational, social, psychological, and integration functions in the process of supporting children of internally displaced persons in conditions of decentralisation and martial law. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to develop an effective system of social assistance for children who have experienced trauma within the educational and community environments. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and practical foundations for using the educational space as a resource for social support for IDP children and to identify areas for its improvement in the territorial communities of Ukraine. The community’s educational space serves as a strategic resource for social policy aimed at restoring psychological and emotional well-being, forming social ties, and ensuring equal access to education. It has been determined that the educational, socialisation, inclusive and therapeutic functions of the educational environment contribute to the adaptation of children of internally displaced persons, the development of their cognitive and communication skills, and the reduction of anxiety and isolation. Coordination between all participants in the educational environment is identified as an important component of ensuring effective social support for children of internally displaced persons in educational institutions. Each professional group – teachers, social educators and administrators – plays a unique role in creating a system of security, trust and child development. The essence of partnership between the community and educational institutions as a condition for providing comprehensive support to children and families of displaced persons is revealed. The directions for improving the educational space are substantiated: institutional strengthening of partnerships, digitisation of education, development of an inclusive environment, introduction of supervisory support for teachers, and systematic monitoring of the effectiveness of social and educational programmes.
2025-10-15T00:00:00+03:00Copyright (c) 2025
