THE ROLE OF PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS IN ENSURING THE NATIONAL SECURITY OF UKRAINE IN THE CONDITIONS OF MARTIAL LAW

Abstract

The article explores the contribution of civil society organizations in ensuring the national security of Ukraine in times of martial law. It analyzes the main functions and activities of these organizations, which help the country’s security system function effectively. The article delves into the role of civil society organizations in mobilization and support for national defense. It examines their role in the processes of rehabilitation, social adaptation, and providing psychological support to military personnel, veterans, and their families. Additionally, the article highlights the humanitarian aid provided by civil society organizations to those affected by the Russian Federation’s military aggression against Ukraine. Significant attention is given to the protection of human rights, where civil society organizations act as guarantors of citizens’ rights and freedoms during martial law. The importance of information work by civil society organizations in disseminating objective and reliable information about the situation during martial law is also emphasized. The article describes projects and initiatives that help foster conscious citizenship and mobilize society. It also sheds light on the media partnership between civil society organizations and the media in disseminating information about national security, encouraging citizen participation and support. In the conclusions, the effectiveness of civil society organizations in ensuring the national security of Ukraine is demonstrated. It shows that only through synergy and cooperation between the state, military structures, and civil society organizations in times of martial law can a resilient country defense system be created and support be provided to those in need.
