ANTI-CORRUPTION BODIES IN THE SYSTEM OF ENSURING NATIONAL SECURITY OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article explores the role of anti-corruption bodies in ensuring Ukraine's national security. It elucidates the essence of the anti-corruption system as a combination of multi-level institutions aimed at combating corruption. The functions of anti-corruption and relevant government bodies are examined, along with their interaction to ensure system efficiency. Special attention is given to the role of anti-corruption bodies in fostering citizens' trust in governmental structures, effectively utilizing state resources, and preventing external influence through corruption. The article analyzes the impact of corruption on national security, emphasizing that corruption in public administration and especially in the military sphere undermines national security, creating threats to the stability of the state and the lives of its citizens. Special focus is placed on the effectiveness of anti-corruption bodies' work, investigation statistics, verdicts, and challenges faced by these bodies in their activities. Concrete measures are proposed to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts, including independent operation free from political influence, interagency coordination, personnel qualification enhancement, technological innovation implementation, active engagement of civil society, and legislative framework improvement. It is emphasized that only through a systematic approach and cooperation among state institutions, civil society, and the international community can corruption be overcome and Ukraine's stable development ensured. The conclusions underscore that an effective anti-corruption system is a crucial prerequisite for the country's sustainable development, increased trust of citizens in governmental institutions, and improvement of Ukraine's international image. It is emphasized that the work of anticorruption bodies requires constant improvement and coordination among various institutions, active participation of civil society, and international cooperation to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts and ensure Ukraine's national security.
