ROLE OF THE LANGUAGE CORPORA IN THE CREATION OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS FOR THE COURSE OF UKRAINIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

The article outlines the problems concerning the teaching of Ukrainian as a foreign language. It is noted that the methodology of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language at present is not enough investigated. The acquisition of Ukrainian by foreigners is becoming more relevant today in connection with the integration of Ukraine into the world community and changes in public consciousness. The purpose of the present scientific research is to analyse the experience gained in the field of the selection of educational materials for teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language. The object of the research is the problem of choosing effective teaching methods and innovative approaches to the formation of materials for teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language. The methodology of teaching Ukrainian as a science explores the process of learning the Ukrainian language, reveals the laws of assimilating different aspects of language, defines and motivates the means of transferring knowledge to students, and seeks to find ways of the most effective learning. In the present paper, a brief history of the development of scientific research in the aforementioned field is outlined. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of a proper selection of manuals and textbooks, the materials of which would maximally ensure the achievement of the purpose of the educational process in terms of the course of Ukrainian as a foreign language. It is extremely important to understand the interconnectedness between language and certain manifestations of national culture (patterns of behaviour, etiquette, gestures, observance of known rituals, customs) attesting the belonging of a person to a corresponding ethnic group. It is remarked that in order to achieve this goal it is expedient to use the data of linguistic corpora of the Ukrainian language. The use of linguistic corpora and frequency dictionaries of the Ukrainian language for the formation of materials for the course of Ukrainian as a foreign language is still a poorly studied field of linguistics. Corpuscular approach makes it possible to most effectively consider the variability of the language system in the aspect of social, historical and geographical variations. It is noted that the above-mentioned aspects of further exploration on the use of materials of the Ukrainian language corpora in the creation of educational materials for the course of Ukrainian as a foreign language, are nowadays an actual task in the field of linguistic research.
