ORGANIZING PRACTICAL TRAINING OF FUTURE SPECIALISTS IN LINGUISTICS IN GREAT BRITAIN

Abstract

The article deals with the organization of practical training for future specialists in linguistics in British universities in the context of the modern vectors of linguistics. The article analyzes research findings by the leading British scholars and specifies that practical training of future linguists in British universities is rather flexible and aims to cultivate a modern and creative specialist, who can competitive in the local and international labour markets. Based on the study of British experience in organizing practical training for future linguists, it is found that linguistic practice implemented in British universities is effective, since it provides linguistics students with the opportunity to develop communicative skills in the context of professional communication using information technologies and, therefore, the lecturer is able to effectively manage students’ progress and identify their errors in real time in a timely manner; the innovation of British experience in organizing practical training for future linguists consists in strengthening the connection between professional training and future professional activity (introducing a virtual environment to track the progress of linguistic practice), promoting professional mobility of future linguists (internships abroad); systematic, individual approach to shaping professional orientation of future linguists applied by British universities proves a high methodological level of British developers of training courses; pedagogical practice allows future linguists to develop the potential of a modern foreign language teacher, become familiar with innovative methods of foreign languages teaching during linguistic workshops and deepen understanding of the importance of quality methodological support, which directly affects effectiveness of the education process.
