Abstract

The study is focused on the analysis of the terms of genital bacterial infections as an integral part of the terminological fund of venereology. The purpose of the study is to identify and describe the initial and motivation signs of terminological units for designating infectious sexual diseases that cause bacterial infections using the material of the Latin language. The object of the study is the Latin venereal terminology. Basic methods for studying terms: sampling, observation, etymological, component, definitional analysis, partly classification, semantic modeling, description. The group of terms of Sexually transmitted bacterial infections is studied. Тerm components original meanings and motivation of terminological units formation to describe sexually transmitted infections have been figured out. Terminological formations of different composition are analyzed. Semantic-structural features, derivational methods and means of term formation are indicated. The components of complex terms, semantically integral terminological phrases are characterized. The linguocultural aspect of terms is indicated. It is noted that the terminology of infectious sexual diseases is characterized by synonymy. This is explained by the fact that with the development of venereological science, along with outdated names, new concepts arise that receive new nominations. Attributes in synonymous terminological word combinations supplement or clarify information about the disease. Conclusion. It is defined that for the naming of a terminological unit, the initial semantics of each of the word-forming elements becomes a motivational feature that reflects one or another property necessary for a motivated nomination of a disease of bacterial origin. The motivation for the name deformination of the disease is also eponyms, toponyms, nomenclatural names of bacteria that cause sexual infections, significantly enrich the volume of information about sexually transmitted diseases.
