STRUCTURAL AND SEMANTIC SPECIFICITY OF NOMINATIVE FIELD OF СONCEPT WAHL IN MODERN GERMAN

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the structural and semantic specificity of the nominative field of the Wahl concept in modern German. The work highlights the current trends in the study of the Wahl concept and its nominative field, and find out the specificity of its perception in the individual and collective consciousness of the linguistic personality of the target linguistic culture. Definitions of the Wahl concept explicate its denotative and significant feature and actualize in the conceptual slide the term of free or involuntary expression of will. The specificity of the formation of the concept under research is also noticed in the semantic features of the words Wahl and wählen, where functional, pragmatic, cognitive and communicative features influence the semantics of the concept. In synonymous series, the conceptual core of the Wahl concept coordinates verbal markers (suchen, aussuchen, vergleichen, prüfen, abwägen). The metaphorical nature of the Wahl concept is explicated through the verbs treffen, kommen, gelangen, stehen. The objectification of a conceptual sign is observed in stable verb microtexts in die engere Wahl kommen, gezogen werden. The linguo-cultural marking of the Wahl concept is highlighted through the ideographic functional micro-concepts beim Telefon durch Drücken der Taste, bei einer Wahl, durch Wahl, durch Abstimmung. The verbalization of the nominative field of the Wahl concept is actualized through the mechanisms of creating synonymous series, word formation in the postposition Berufswahl, Studienwahl, Partnerwahl and the preposition Wahlfach, Wahlfreiheit, in the stimulus words Dillema, Fingerzeig, Tipp, Rat, and in paremies. Structural and semantic specificity marks the nominative field of the Wahl concept with a note: choice of objects or opportunities, choice as a chance, choice as a means of solving a problem, choice as a way to achieve desires, choice as a selection process, choice as a need for evaluation, choice as a feeling of inner discomfort, choice as a reason for mental anxiety of the linguistic personality.
