THE EXPERIMENTAL COURSE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AS A MOTIVATOR TO PROMOTE PUPILS' CREATIVITY AT MODERN UKRAINIAN SCHOOL

The article deals with the peculiarities of experimental courses that occur in case they are included into the educational space of the English language classroom. The present research investigates the experimental course intended for the fifth and sixth grades of modern Ukrainian schooling. The paper is based on a set of advantages that are available in the context of video segments' application. These comprise their importance as an educational resource, their opportunity to construct a real foreign-language environment, their chance to enhance the communicative experience, the formation of lifelike patterns to represent contextual tasks and games, their promoting to understand the theme and content, their intensifying the process of memorizing, their creating objective images of reality, their simplifying the meaning of words and phenomena thanks to visualization. The benefits listed above contributed to the creation of the experimental course «Across Epochs and Continents» that involves authentic educational online resources which are further applied in the English language classroom. The content of the experimental course has been outlined comprising two parts, namely «The Trip across Continents» and «The Earth: Time Travel». The first part of the experimental course «Across Epochs and Continents» is applicative and integrates some knowledge from Geography, Astronomy and Biology. Such integration encourages successful mastering the language while playing. The second part of the experimental course is dedicated to a brief history of the planet and some notable discoveries in Geography and Science comprising such thematic items as «The Ice Age», «The Silk Route», «Darwin and the Theory of Evolution», «The First Journey Around the World», «The Pyramids of Egypt», «The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World», «World of Plants». The experimental course has been created involving the use of YouTube educational on-line resources ABCmouse.com; Free School; It’s AumSum Time; Kids Learning Tube; List of Facts; National Geographic Kids; The Kids’ Picture Show; Wild Brain – Kids Videos; World Ahoy Animation Series. All learning stages (a preparatory stage, a while-watching stage and afterrepresentational stage) have been illustrated. Such beneficial features of integrative approaches as motivation to promote creativity and overcoming psychological barriers have been outlined.
