The purpose of the study is to conduct a theoretical and methodological analysis of the main problems in designing empirical research on personality behavior in the digital environment and to substantiate approaches to overcoming them, taking into account the specifics of contemporary digital space. The research methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the principles of personality psychology, social psychology, digital sociology, and the methodology of empirical research. The study employs methods of theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific sources, comparative analysis of traditional and digital data collection methods, as well as methodological reflection on the use of surveys, observation, analysis of digital traces, and content analysis of online interaction. Particular attention is paid to the problems of operationalizing key concepts, the validity and reliability of research instruments, sample representativeness, and ethical aspects of studying digital behavior. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the systematization of methodological difficulties in the empirical investigation of personality behavior in the digital environment as a holistic object of research, as well as in the development of methodological recommendations for designing research strategies that take into account the dynamism of digital platforms, algorithmic influence, and the contextual nature of online behavior. A comprehensive approach to combining quantitative and qualitative methods for analyzing digital activity of personality is proposed. The conclusions indicate that effective empirical research on personality behavior in the digital environment requires the adaptation of classical methodological approaches to the conditions of digital reality, consideration of sociocultural and technological factors, and strict adherence to ethical standards. The feasibility of using mixed methods and contextual analysis as means of increasing the validity and reliability of research results is substantiated.
