THE INFLUENCE OF MUSIC AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN DROHOBYCH ON THE INTENSIFICATION OF COMPOSITIONAL CREATIVITY IN THE REGION

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyse the impact of music education institutions in Drohobych (Lviv region) on the development of composers’ creativity in the region. The research is aimed at determining the role of educational institutions in shaping the professional environment for composers, intensifying their creative activity, and studying their contribution to the cultural development of the region. Methodology. The article uses an interdisciplinary approach based on the methods of cultural, historical, analytical and musicological analysis. The methods of contextual analysis are used to study the historical circumstances of the formation of musical institutions, as well as the comparative method to identify the specifics of their influence on regional compositional creativity. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the identification of the relationship between the development of music education institutions in Drohobych and the intensification of composing activity in the region. For the first time, the study emphasises the role of these institutions in the formation of a unique cultural environment that contributed to the emergence of new musical works and strengthening the professional level of composers. Conclusions. The musical and educational institutions of Drohobych (the Faculty of Music and Pedagogy of the Ivan Franko Drohobych Pedagogical University and the Drohobych Music School (College) named after V. Barvinsky) played a key role in the formation of the region’s compositional school, creating favourable conditions for the creative activity of local composers. Their activities contributed to the development of a professional musical environment that united performers, teachers, and composers. The activities of these musical institutions significantly stimulated the emergence of new musical works, including chamber, choral and orchestral compositions, which reflected the local cultural identity. This contributed to the establishment of a regional musical style in the national and European contexts. The results of the study can be useful for developing strategies for the preservation and development of the musical and cultural potential of the region.
