Abstract

Academic art has gained independent significance as a result of the differentiation of musical thinking. Academization in the art of music is directly related to the intonation of musical thought. This whole process begins only at a fairly late stage of human development, and its origins plunge into musical folklore. On the way to mastering the brightest techniques of sound fabric formation, the composer precisely studies a musical instrument (cymbals, Pan flute, guitar), penetrating into the technological sphere of the appearance of sound peculiar only to him, and also expands the color palette of colors with new, quite unexpected techniques that are rarely used in the operation of the instrument in the traditional way. The whole creative path of the composer Bohdan Kotyuk is connected with the constant study of musical instruments and the desire to achieve in his own works for these instruments musical excellence at the academic level. For several decades B. Kotyuk has been following this path thoroughly, thoroughly researching the textural, technical and expressive possibilities of the piano, as the main instrument which he professionally mastered from early childhood. This process of building a diverse style of piano texture resulted in the composer writing 4 concertos and a number of other works for piano solo. Concentration of interest, study and propaganda of composer-researcher and pedagogue-methodologist Bohdan Kotyuk in different years concerned various musical instruments: chromatic flute designed by Dmytro Deminchuk, concert cymbals of Shunda system, flute Pan, bandura with switches designed by Vasyl Heraskytina and classical acoustic sound and flamenco style, as well as jazz and rock electronic transformation. The composer's further desire to delve into the sacred essence of art and discover the richness of color of the greatest of all musical instruments led Bohdan Kotyuk to in-depth study of the church trumpet and create for him different in size and emotional content of works - both solo and in ensemble with other musical instruments.
