FOSTERING PATRIOTISM AS ONE OF THE KEY COMPONENTS OF THE GENERAL SYSTEM OF VALUES OF MILITARY PERSONNEL AND THE BASIS OF NATIONAL IDENTITY

Abstract

Today, one of the problems of professional training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is that the level of military-patriotic education, unfortunately, does not always meet the modern requirements for the spiritual mentality of the Ukrainian military. This does not always contribute to the formation of the necessary qualities of a patriotic citizen and responsibility for the defense of the Motherland, readiness to endure the difficulties of military service and perform assigned tasks. The purpose of the study is to develop and identify ways to introduce into the educational process of higher education institutions one of the pedagogical conditions for the formation of the socio-psychological readiness of the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to perform assigned tasks – education of patriotism as one of the key components of the general system of values of military personnel and the basis of national identity. A set of methods was used in the study: interdisciplinary analysis of scientific literature, generalization, modeling, questionnaires, testing, interview, observation, socio-pedagogical experiment. The results of the study proved that improving the system of military-patriotic education of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a strategically important element for strengthening the defense capability and national security of Ukraine in the context of modern geopolitical challenges. The work we have organized to foster patriotism in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has contributed to the formation of a strong and stable national spirit and patriotism among the military, which, in particular, is reflected in strengthening their moral and psychological stability, forming national unity, developing patriotic values, adapting servicemen to new challenges, and ensuring sustainable military readiness.
