EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AS A FACTOR OF INTEGRATION OF ROMA NATIONAL MINORITIES INTO THE NEW SOCIO-CULTURAL CONDITIONS

Abstract

Education is a major component for the development of any nation, and educational services are a key element in facilitating this. Every citizen has the right to receive general secondary education, and higher education is a separate choice for everyone and is not mandatory. Ukrainian legislation maximally contributes to ensuring that all children have access to quality education. Given the specifics of the Roma community, education among such people is not popular and sometimes remains outside the context of children's development, because for Roma, other everyday issues that they have to solve are sometimes the primary needs. Accordingly, there is a need to involve more children of Roma nationality in the educational process. First of all, such a need arises because of the future opportunity to be realized in society and for the sake of creating one's own appropriate life. The article is a study of the peculiarities of the provision of educational services as a factor in the integration of Roma national minorities into new socio-cultural conditions. It is emphasized that at the current stage, the educational level among Roma remains low in comparison with other national communities, at the same time it is proved that the low educational level of parents is, in fact, the consequence of the low academic performance of Roma children. Accordingly, the article reveals the features of the content of the concept of «educational service», highlights the key characteristics. The specifics of receiving education by children of Roma nationality have been revealed, and analytical statistics regarding quantitative indicators in receiving such a service have been characterized. The important role of the state and private institutions (foundations, public organizations) in the organization of providing quality educational services to various categories of citizens, including Roma national communities, is indicated. Ways of involving children of Roma nationality to participate in the educational process with the aim of their integration into new socio-cultural conditions are highlighted.
