SOCIAL PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN IN THE FAMILY

Abstract

Unfortunately, violence in the family is quite widespread, regardless of social status, financial capabilities, sociocultural, economic, political aspects, sexual orientation. Many children, suffering from violence in the family, do not even know that the abuser is breaking the law. It is important to be able to recognize violence, and the most important thing is to know how to protect yourself from it. Domestic violence against children differs from other aggressive acts in that it is not an isolated incident, these acts are repeated regularly and systematically. Moreover, these actions are carried out in relationships between close people (parents and children, other relatives and children). Violence in the family can have different types and forms, but the consequences of violence in the family for a child always entail serious damage to the child's health and development. In the article, the authors define the types of family violence against children and emphasize such types of family violence against children as: physical, sexual, economic, psychological and outline the features of the primary prevention of violence in the family, indicate the immediate and remote consequences of violence in families regarding children. It is quite difficult to draw a clear line between forms of domestic violence against children. For example, some scientists attribute sleep deprivation to psychological violence, other researchers emphasize physical violence. It is noted that violence in the family against children can be manifested by inflicting physical injuries; sexual acts; threats, intimidation; economic dependence. All the listed types of behavior can exist in any combination and appear episodically, constantly, for a certain time. The causes of violence in Ukrainian families are: psychological, social, economic factors.
