PLAY THERAPY AS A METHOD OF SOCIAL WORK WITH CHILDREN

Abstract

The article carries out a theoretical analysis of the concept of play therapy, reveals its content and the problems of using this method in socio-pedagogical work, because it will help the process of modeling interaction with the environment and social environment. The authors justified the importance of using the play therapy method in social work with children in the conditions of a difficult socio-economic situation in Ukraine, a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation troops on the territory of our state, stressful situations, etc. It is noted that a special factor is that in social work play therapy is used as a method of working with disabled children, children who have suffered from violence (including sexual), as well as children with maladaptive, antisocial and deviant behavior. The main functions and stages of play therapy are defined. Features of individual and group play therapy are revealed. It is emphasized that when forming a group, the play therapist should be guided by the following: the group should consist of children with various disabilities; children should be placed in such a group where they will not receive additional mental trauma; group members should not know each other before the start of play therapy; the age difference should not exceed 1 year; the age of the children in the group is from 5 to 12 years. The rules for the selection of toys for play therapy are outlined, and it is also stated that when using play therapy in working with children, an important place in the system of providing assistance to the child is played by the organization of the art therapy space, which in the future will provide an opportunity for the social worker and psychologist to rationally and effectively conduct the process of behavior correction child The authors claim that in the conditions of the full-scale invasion of the troops of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Ukrainian state, the problem of using play therapy in the psychological and pedagogical process of raising children has become acute.
