APPROACHES TO CLASSIFICATION OF SOCIAL PROJECTS OF PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS

Abstract

Public organizations in Ukraine are full-fledged subjects of social work, as evidenced by their colossal contribution to its development before the war and especially during this difficult period that our country is currently experiencing. Their role will also be leading in the post-war period, when civil society will face the task of rebuilding Ukraine, resolving numerous challenges and tasks that will arise in all planes and vectors of the state's functioning and restoration. Therefore, the role of public organizations, which have a unique feature – to quickly respond to these challenges, assessing the problems of Ukrainian society, identifying the current needs of community members, developing and implementing powerful national, regional and local social projects aimed at solving identified problems and satisfying the needs of the population diagnosed by them. It has been established that public organizations use social design as an innovative social technology aimed at forecasting and program-targeted implementation of social innovations. By developing and implementing social projects, public organizations have the opportunity to solve social problems of territorial communities, individual vulnerable categories of recipients of social services, contribute to improving the quality of people's lives, develop volunteer activities and increase the social activity of people who implement social projects or are their stakeholders. In the article, the author, based on the experience of the East Europe Foundation, identify approaches to the classification of social projects. Six classification features are identified and analyzed, according to which projects are grouped, namely: by project size (monoprojects; multiprojects; megaprojects); by the amount of project financing (small; medium; large); by project purpose (investment; innovative; research; socio-educational; mixed); by duration (short-term; medium-term; long-term); by geographical feature (within a certain settlement; regional; international); by the level of organization within the organization (local; corporate). East Europe Foundation is a Ukrainian non-profit charitable organization whose story starts all the way back in 1992. Today East Europe Foundation is one of the leaders in Ukraine's civil society sector, having completed more than 100 programs of various scales, duration, and complexity. Our areas of activity include the development of democracy and civil society, instituting e-government, developing small and medium enterprises and social entrepreneurship, supporting projects in energy efficiency, and much more. In our work, we rely on a broad network of partners: state and local government agencies, community leaders, NGOs, associations, universities, research institutes, and technical assistance organizations—because we firmly believe that in partnership lies our strength.
