Abstract

Results of the investigation of the formation of future social workers’ personal qualities and attributes are covered in the article (formed need for communication, developed communication and organizational skills, ability to empathize). These qualities and attributes characterize the ability of social workers to communicate, such as the subject-object-subject activity of communication participants, which is aimed at information exchange and influence on the consciousness or behavior of the addressee through communication through the use of nonverbal means and intentional -strategic programs. It has been investigated, that the average and below-average level of formation of the need for communication are characteristics of the bulk of future social workers; most of them have a low and below-average level of communication and organizational skills, moreover, there is a clear tendency to a much lower level of development of organizational skills compared to the development of communicative; the vast majority of future social workers do not have formed and developed at the appropriate level the ability to understand the inner world of another person, his difficulties and personal problems, to respond to his experiences (we mean the ability to understand the client’s condition, his social experience and features of the emotional and sensory sphere). It has been found out, that only the transition from the directive-knowledge training of the student to the introduction of a personality-oriented paradigm, the implementation of the activity, reflective, competence approaches in the educational process of higher education institutions will provide: formation of future social workers’ skills to establish dialogic forms of interaction with clients, to see the essential properties of the client’s problem, to predict the consequences of collective action; development of flexibility and dynamics of perception of the surrounding reality, observation, empathic-sensory perception of interaction, attention, perception, thinking about the state, problems, behavior of another person, emotional sensitivity.
