SOCIAL SUPPORT FOR PARENTS OF MINORS IN CONFLICT WITH THE LAW

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of types, forms and methods of social support for parents of adolescents who are in conflict with the law. This is due to the escalation of the issue of social control, support and provision of social support to vulnerable groups, namely families who find themselves in difficult living conditions and their children have committed a criminal offense. The methodology of our article is based on the analysis of the scientific literature. During the analysis of primary sources, we found that the authors, in studying this issue, paid attention to only one of the components of the activities of social support for parents. The main areas of research were: social prevention of child abuse among parents of adolescents in conflict with the law; family unhappiness as a factor in the formation of deviant behavior of adolescents; risk factors for juvenile delinquency; causes of social maladaptation of minors related to the family; the influence of disadvantaged families on the formation of delinquent behavior in children; family attitudes towards minors as a risk of committing a criminal offense; the content of social work with families; forms and methods of parental support; the role of the community in the social support of parents. The study of the literature suggests that in situations where a minor is in conflict with the law, it is important not only to carry out corrective and preventive work with him, but also to organize and provide social support to his parents or guardians. Particular attention should be paid to a comprehensive approach to addressing this issue. The scientific novelty is to systematize and improve the approach to the process of social support of parents of minors who are in conflict with the law, which consists of the following stages: establishing contact with the child and his family, motivating them to cooperate and work on the child's problems; conducting a comprehensive assessment of the needs of the child and family; development of a plan of social and pedagogical support of the child's family; control over the child’s behavior, compliance with the conditions of release from punishment, moral and legal norms, cooperation agreements; psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation of the child; formation of a favorable socio-pedagogical environment around the child; social reintegration and readaptation of the child; evaluation of the process and effectiveness of socio-pedagogical support. An effective option for working with parents is to use restorative social technologies. This is a type of social technology aimed at restoring the previous (normal) state of man, disturbed by the negative impact of the social environment, social maladaptation, deviant and risky behavior, crime, and so on. This direction is a priority in our further research.
