CURRENT PROBLEMS OF THE FAMILY AS AN OBJECT OF SOCIAL POLICY AND SOCIAL WORK

Abstract

The article analyzes and reveals current issues of the family as an object of social policy and social work. The analysis shows that at this stage the family, as a social institution of society, is experiencing a crisis caused by a number of factors at the global and local levels. The study found that social policy in relation to the institution of the family is a set of socio-economic, regulatory, social, demographic and other measures of state and non-state influence to identify, reconcile and meet the needs and interests of the family. The main tasks of social policy towards the Ukrainian family are: development of family support, functioning of the family social protection system with a network of social services, institutions, organizations, various technologies, methods and services and other forms of social work with the family and its members. The main implementer of social policy with the family is the central public authority – the Ministry of Social Policy with its structural units and networks of social services, institutions and organizations. It was found that at the present stage, social work with the Ukrainian family is carried out in three main areas: psychological, educational and mediation. Modern socio-psychological support of the family is to ensure the restoration of a positive microclimate between its members, especially during family crises. The educational direction of social work provides social assistance and support in teaching and education. Mediation with its procedures, forms and approaches provides social assistance to the family in resolving conflicts and assists in the organization of its life, provides coordination processes of the family's relationship with social services, institutions and organizations to address issues of social protection and support.
