DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES AT THE SPHERE OF COUNCELLING IN THE SOCIAL WORK WITH VULNERABLE CATEGORIES OF THE POPULATION

Abstract

At the scientific article an author considered theoretical approaches and shared practical recommendations concerning effective counseling at the practical social work with vulnerable categories of clients. Main principles and ethical rules of the counseling are analyzed in the article. At the scientific publication and author provided advices of the leading native and foreign specialists and analyzed state standards. An author analyzed methods of social work and mad accent on the crisis counseling in modern times. Special attention is paid to the basic skills of the counselor in the social work. An author of publication appealed to the fundamental backgrounds of the counseling and to the practical examples. At the scientific article important aspects of the teaching of future social workers, methods of training and education and practical application of the rules and standards of the counseling are analyzed. An author pay attention and may accent on professional skills and features of character of counselors. During learning of the crucial positions of the State standard of social service of the crisis and emergency intervention students learned methods of crisis and telephone counseling. In the process of studying of the State Standard of the social service of counseling students studied methods of estimation and evaluation of the difficult life situation, forms of counseling and providing of the information concerning social aid and social protection of the population. An author of publication mentioned not only classical but also innovational methods of the development of practical competencies of future social workers at the sphere of counseling and shared advices concerning studying of regulatory documents. Methods of counseling and social and psychological assistance need special attention in the period of Russian–Ukrainian war. Establishing of contact and peculiarities of interaction and cooperation with clients, peculiarities of communication with vulnerable categories of clients in crisis times – there are actual and important practical knowledge nowadays. Peculiarities of the prevention of emotional burnout of social workers became useful and demanded knowledge in modern reality.
