STYLISTIC PECULARITIES OF CHORAL WRITING AND ART OF COMPOSER ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE MUSICAL WORK BOHDANY FILTS «HAIL MARY»

Abstract

The article reveals Bohdana Filts’ stylistic peculiarities of choral writing and art of composer. The method of Analysis of children’s choral work and spiritual choral miniature “Hail Mary” filled with various means of expressions are used to achieve the aim of the article. The ability of a composer to create bright musical images with the help of concise but expressive means, the ability to express one’s thoughts simply and freely are clearly revealed in the songs and kid’s choral compositions. Moreover, Bohdana Filts addresses a wide range of different poets of the past and present. She’s always guided by a close affinity of worldview positions and common aesthetic views. In her works, Bohdana Filts promotes the ideas of spiritual improvement, optimism, national self-affirmation, patriotism, love for nature and the Motherland. Turning to spiritual music on the example of the choral miniature " Hail Mary" reveals the composer as a person who subtly reproduces the nuances of a psychological state. The work has a sublime, spiritual, restrained and joyful character. This choral miniature does not have a bright plot development. The music is connected with the text of the prayer and has an overall structure. It is based on the principle of continuous development and updating of the thematic material in accordance with the development of the plot and psychological line of the text. The forming process of a composition is influenced by the fret tone plan, harmony and rhythm. The rhythm of the work is flexible and plastic with the use of small and large dots. The melody of the work is marked by a certain declamation, which brings the work closer to the manner of performing church hymns. The melody of the piece is built exclusively on diatonic, which is also characteristic of spiritual music. To sum up, Bohdana Filts belongs to the galaxy of composers who have the gift of writing sincere, melodic and at the same time fresh music marked by a unique individual style and character.
