FOLK AND PROFESSIONAL MASTERS IN THE EXHIBITION ACTIVITY OF UKRAINE (FIRST THIRD OF THE 20TH CENTURY)

The article examines the main trends, peculiarities and problematic issues of exhibition activity in Ukraine, which focuses on the display of artistic assets of folk and professional masters of the first third of the 20th century. Ukrainian folk crafts have always been an important part of the country's artistic heritage and national pride, their popularization not only in Ukraine, but also throughout the world is one of the main tasks of state policy and civil society. That is why the search for the most effective ways of presenting the great work of folk art in the country and on the international arena is urgent. The purpose of the work is to establish the role and place of the works of folk artists of the first third of the 20th century, which they play in the exhibition activity of Ukraine. The research methodology is complex, descriptive method, analysis and synthesis were used to describe the theoretical aspects; the work presents comparative and interdisciplinary methods. The scientific hypothesis of the study is that the exhibition activity related to the folk art of Ukraine should be a systematic and long-term work, which is designed to contribute to the formation of a positive image of the country, is a carrier of a unique and complex artistic space. The result of the study was the establishment of the role and content of popularization policy regarding folk culture and art of Ukraine, historical retrospective exhibitions, which should be held regularly, supported by state programs and sponsors. A consideration of the principles of exhibition activity in the representation of the works of folk and professional masters as part of the history of the entire country is presented. The artistic works of the masters of the first third of the 20th century are no exception. This determined the scientific novelty of the presented research. The practical significance of the study lies in the presentation of the main directions of folk crafts and craftsmen represented in the exhibition activity of Ukraine. In the future, it is worth continuing the analysis of the evolution of the creativity of folk and professional masters, the ways of representing their works to the world, and the formation of a positive image of Ukraine.
