GUITAR DUETS AS AN EXAMPLE OF SMALL FORM ENSEMBLES IN THE CULTURAL SPACE OF UKRAINE AND THE DIASPORA

Abstract

The article deals with the phenomenon of the duet as one of the most popular types of small ensemble music forms in the field of guitar performance in Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora. The aim of the work is to study the guitar duet as one of the examples of small ensembles of Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora. The research methodology includes descriptive and analytical and theoretical methods used in the study of the literature that related to the topic of the study, as well as methods of synthesis and theoretical generalization. The scientific novelty of the work is the first comprehensive study of guitar duets from Ukraine and the diaspora. Ukraine and diaspora guitar duos, the introduction of the facts of creative and and performing activities of guitar duos of the Ukrainian diaspora, generalization of the existing repertoire of Ukrainian composers for guitar duets. Conclusions. The conducted work has demonstrated that the performing activities of Ukrainian guitar duos occupy a significant place in the in the context of the world cultural and artistic space. The creative heritage of Ukrainian composers who write for duets and the active performance activities of the groups contribute to the spread of Ukrainian musical art to the masses and the development of guitar ensemble performance. The research covers the historical development of of guitar duets, analyzes their role and importance in the musical culture of Ukraine and the diaspora, highlighting the main trends and stylistic features of performance, the importance of preserving and popularizing guitar art through ensemble music both in the native country and abroad. It also demonstrates the existing repertoire for guitar duets, Ukrainian guitar duets and Ukrainian guitar duets and duets of the Ukrainian diaspora that demonstrate their loyalty to the Ukrainian state. It is proved that instrumental duets, in particular guitar duets, popularizing Ukrainian motifs, are ambassadors of Ukrainian guitar music in the world.
