THE CREATIVE PERSONALITY OF FRANK SINATRA IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN PERSONALITY THEORY

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine and reveal the creative figure of Francis Albert (Frank) Sinatra`s main features in the context of modern personality theory. The topicality of the research is determined by the contradiction between Frank Sinatra`s significant contribution to the development of mass musical culture of the twentieth century and the absence of research in the Ukrainian scientific space devoted to the analysis of Frank Sinatra`s creative biography through the prism of modern personality theory. The research methodology assumes a combination of general scientific and special musicological methods, in particular on the biographical method within which is studied the life and creative path of F. Sinatra; and a personal approach allows us to form an idea of F. Sinatra`s personality as a subject of creative activity. The scientific novelty of the study is determined by the scientific description of the creative character of Frank Sinatra in the context of modern personality theory which consists in clarifying and revealing the nature of the singer`s creative personality. Conclusions. The phenomenon of Frank Sinatra`s creative personality is studied by researchers all over the world. From the standpoint of modern personality theory it has been proven that the artist possessed a spectrum of certain qualities that turn him into a unique person, capable of generating ideas and creating art.
