SOCIAL WORK AND SOCIAL SUPPORT FOR ORPHANS IN UKRAINE DURING TIMES OF WAR

Abstract

This article is dedicated to the issue of social work and social assistance for orphans in Ukraine in the context of war. With the increasing number of children left without parental care due to the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the authors address the issue of providing social support and assistance to orphaned and deprived children. The article analyzes the role of state and civil society organizations in providing social support and assistance to orphans in Ukraine. It describes the problem of access to education, medical care, and other social services for orphans, as well as highlights the need for psychological support for such children. The article also describes programs and projects being implemented in Ukraine to improve the situation of orphans, such as social adaptation, social-psychological rehabilitation, and the development of alternative forms of childcare. It is emphasized that social work and social assistance to orphans in Ukraine is an important issue that requires coordination between the efforts of the state and civil society. The authors call for further improvement of mechanisms for providing social support and assistance to orphans in the conditions of war. It has been noted that the government of Ukraine has taken a number of measures to provide social support for orphans and children deprived of parental care, including increasing the amount of state aid and opening centers to assist children in difficult life circumstances. However, the article emphasizes the need for systematic work to prevent the causes that lead to children becoming orphans. For example, this could involve working with parents to help them maintain custody of their children, or providing social services that help families solve problems. Therefore, the article examines the problem of social work and social assistance for orphans in Ukraine in the context of war, and provides information about measures being taken to improve the situation of orphans and children deprived of parental care. Finally, it is important to emphasize that the problem of orphans in Ukraine in the context of war requires great attention and efforts from all sides. It is necessary to provide orphans with proper conditions for living, learning, and development, as well as to help them reintegrate. Many of these children have experienced trauma and stress that can affect their future lives. Therefore, it is necessary to develop special programs of psychological support and rehabilitation for orphans who have experienced war.
