MEANINGFUL COMPONENT OF FORMING LEGAL COMPETENCE AMONG FUTURE SPECIALISTS OF THE SOCIAL WORK

Abstract

The concept, essence, components of legal competence of the future social worker is revealed, training program for such a specialist is analyzed in the article. The purpose of the article is to analyze the meaningful component of forming legal competence of a social work specialist, to develop the conditions for its effective implementation. The problem is actualized due to the fact that the availability of an effective system of training social work specialists to human rights activities and constant improvement of knowledge of specialists in various fields of law are important today. Forming legal competence of a future social work specialist at the present stage is considered as one of the priority directions in the system of university training of students. The result of forming competence of a social work specialist is his ability to meet new professional requirements, to have an appropriate potential for the practical solution of life problems, searching his place in the profession and in the social structure. State standards of training of applicants for higher education at the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) level of higher specialty 231 Social work, which provide for the need for forming general and professional competencies of legal direction, are analyzed. In order to determine the compliance of the content of educational professional programs with the level of formation of legal competence of future social work specialists, the content of educational professional programs of the bachelor’s and master’s degree of specialty 231 Social Work of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and the level of legal competence of 1st year students of Bachelor degree and 1st year of Master degree. Legal competence of a social work specialist is considered as ability to perform professional functions taking into account social and legal knowledge and experience of legal actions, to highlight in them a social and legal component and provides three levels of its formation: the first (initial) level, where the degree of ability to acquire and process the necessary knowledge are determined; the second, where the degree of participation (active or passive) in public life is determined; the third, where the degree of interaction with the social and legal environment is determined. It was found that the content component of training social workers forms their legal competence, but is more effective under certain conditions.
