SOCIAL PREVENTION OF DEVIANT BEHAVIOR IN THE YOUTH ENVIRONMENT OF THE INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The article highlights the issue of deviant behavior among higher education students. The definition of «deviant behavior» is given. Sociologists, physicians, psychologists, and educators have long been found to study the nature of deviant behavior and to classify various types of deviations. The definition of this term by the scientific elite is highlighted. The socio-psychological approach is described. These signs and manifestations of deviant behavior, which can be expressed in the nature and actions of the individual. It is established that in the pedagogical literature deviant behavior is considered as a kind of non-normative behavior of individuals or social groups, characterized by actions that deviate from generally accepted or accepted norms. It was found that the main signs of deviance are: difficult learning (disorganization, failure of the child); difficult upbringing (persistent changes in behavior: increased agitation or inhibition, aggression, conflict, inability to subordinate personal interests to the collective, rapid mood swings, affectivity, systematically repeated actions). Components of prevention of deviant behavior among students are characterized. It has been found that people who are called deviant are often victims of the concept of «social deviation» – is an attributed status, ie «label», which is hung through subjective attitudes influential sections of the population of vulnerable citizens or groups of people. The analysis of psychological features of the student is described: psychological qualities of the subject (level of aggression, characteristics of emotional and volitional sphere), system of social – psychological qualities (personality orientation, features of communicative style, belonging to informal groups of antisocial orientation). Seven principles of preventive work with students are described: complexity, targeting, mass, positivity of information, minimization of negative consequences, personal interest and responsibility of participants, maximum activity of the individual. It is established that a modern social worker should be a professional in his / her field in order to prevent deviant behavior among higher education students.
