Achieving the set goal in the coaching process is conditioned by the successful completion of each of its stages: situation analysis, planning, implementation, evaluation. It is very important that each goal in the client engagement plan be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound. There are certain criteria that the set goals must meet. Attention is drawn to a number of criteria of a false goal, for example, the desire to prove something to someone, status of the goal, parental goal, etc. Emphasis is placed on the emotional markers of a false goal (the client’s stuttering, the client’s insecurity, the client’s expectation of support), which must be noticed in time and taken into account when working with the client. Here is a list of seven basic questions that allow you to identify a false goal.
