SOCIAL WORK WITH ORPHANS AND CHILDREN DEPRIVED OF PARENTAL CARE IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE STATE OF WAR

Abstract

In the scientific article, the author considered social work with orphans and children deprived of parental care in the conditions of martial law. The essence is revealed, the needs and resources of the specified category are defined, which are relevant in the conditions of martial law, namely social (regarding self-determination and self-realization, receiving social benefits, etc.), psychological (normalization of the psycho-emotional state, intellectual development in self-awareness, self-esteem, aesthetic needs of the child, etc. ), biological (physiological development, provision of adequate nutrition, etc.). The problems and factors that must be taken into account during social work with children under the conditions of martial law in Ukraine are revealed. The concepts of an orphan child, a child deprived of parental care, and the main principles of providing social services are analyzed. Peculiarities of reintegration of pupils of residential institutions are determined. It was noted that the urgent problem of today is the organization of social work on the placement of children in family forms of education. It is also important to develop and improve the specified forms of education: adoption, guardianship, foster family, family-type orphanage. It was found that despite the fact that Ukraine is in a state of war, social work is carried out and all planned social guarantees for children are fulfilled. The support of children during the war period, which necessarily takes into account the characteristics of the child’s age, is defined and characterized in detail, with the observance of a gender-sensitive approach. It was determined that the process of improving social work with children of the specified category in the conditions of martial law is possible and requires new approaches in the activities of structures involved in working with children. It is noted that the social protection of children is developing as one of the priority directions of the state social policy.
