SPECIFICS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING OF INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Abstract

The article reveals the peculiarities of communication between men and women in terms of their professional activity. The interpersonal relationships between colleagues are analyzed, as well as the peculiarities of the married couples’ relationships and their attitude to extramarital affairs. The relationship between marital relationships satisfaction, self-control assessment in communication, leadership self-esteem and expression of sympathy and attraction to the opposite sex between colleagues are disclosed. The results showed that women are more flexible to the situation change, more emotionally unrestrained, and more ready to change their own behavior for the sake of others. Men’s behavior is more stable even with unstable emotional manifestations. However, no correlation is found between levels of self-control, leadership self-esteem, and the characteristics of engagement with a female colleague in both women and men. It is worth noting that the relationship between marriage satisfaction and interest in communication with a colleague is not revealed. The results of the study can be successfully used in the practical work of a psychologist to provide psychological assistance to couples to prevent the manifestation of jealousy associated with colleagues and each partner directly to establish marital and family relationships.
