SOCIAL SUPPORT FOR INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS WHO LOST THEIR JOBS DURING THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The full-scale invasion of Ukraine has significantly impacted Ukrainian society, including the realm of social work. Social service delivery must now adapt to the needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs). The Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons" guarantees the observance of the rights, freedoms, and legitimate interests of IDPs, including those forced to leave or abandon their place of residence as a result of or to avoid the negative consequences of armed conflict, temporary occupation, etc. Due to the martial law, employment is the most pressing issue for IDPs. The possibility of settling down in a new place for IDPs is complicated by the possible loss of documents, experienced stress, and, as a consequence, emotional exhaustion, instability, depression, etc. Therefore, the issue of social assistance to IDPs, especially those who have lost their jobs due to the war, becomes актуальним. The research methods used in this study include: theoretical analysis and generalization of domestic and foreign scientific sources on social work – to characterize the peculiarities of social service delivery to IDPs in Ukraine. The article examines an example of a social service – unemployment benefits for IDPs; provides an algorithm of actions that must be taken to use the unemployment benefits service; considers the service of providing the employer with compensation for the cost of labor for the employment of IDPs.
