INTEGRATION OF THEORY AND PRACTICE IN THE PROCESS OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF SOCIAL SECURITY SPECIALISTS

Abstract

The article comprehensively examines the issue of integrating theory and practice in the process of professional training of social security specialists. The relevance of such integration is justified by the dynamic nature of the social sphere, the growing demand for practice-oriented professionals, and the importance of developing soft skills. Existing approaches to integrating theory and practice in Ukraine (dual education, practice-oriented learning) and abroad (the “sandwich course” model, service-learning, problem-based learning, and reflective practice) are analyzed. The main challenges and contradictions in the integration process are identified, including the gap between theory and real practice, the insufficient flexibility of educational programs, and the limited resources for practical training. A theoretical model of theory-practice integration is proposed, incorporating fundamental components (theoretical, practical, and integrative), addressing contemporary issues and approaches to their resolution. The stages of model implementation are developed, along with practical recommendations for its introduction, emphasizing the expansion of the practical component, the establishment of a dual education system, the involvement of professional practitioners, and the use of interactive teaching methods and digital technologies. Particular attention is given to the development of soft skills and the interdisciplinary approach in training social security specialists.
