THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES OF INTENDING PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS TRAINING FOR PUPILS’ MEDIA LITERACY FORMATION

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of intending primary school teachers training for pupils’ media literacy formation. In the period of rapid developing modern media space, effective work of primary school teachers is not possible without using the media means that meet the socio-psychological and psycholinguistic features of primary school children developing and influence the forming pupils’ worldviews, their personal qualities and new media skills. The problem of intending primary school teachers’ professional training for the use of media means is multifaceted, interdisciplinary and innovative. Modern society is characterized by the developing global information infrastructure, where the exchange of information has no limitations in space and time, and information itself becomes the most important resource. Today, a person is required not only mastering certain special information, but also the ability to navigate information flows, be mobile, learn new technologies, self-study, search and use a variety of information resources. In this regard, the study of media education is important, the main task of which is to prepare the new generation for life in modern information conditions, to perceive information, teach people to understand it, understand the effects of its impact on the psyche, master communication methods based on nonverbal forms of communication with the help of technical means and modern information technologies. Developing the modern information society, globalization processes determine new priorities for the formation of competencies in the pupil environment. Currently, we need employees who are able to independently determine the processing of information, analyze it and synthesize it into new knowledge. It is well known that the media has a significant impact on knowledge and worldview, needs and lifestyles, so it is important to develop pupils’ ability to perceive media information critically and separately. In this context, the most important task is intellectualization, which is a guarantee of protection against the negative effects of the media and effective information processing.
