WEB-QUEST IN MODERN EDUCATIONAL CONTENT HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

Abstract

The article clarifies the essence of WEB-QUEST technology in the modern educational content of higher education institutions; the essential meaning of the concept of web-quest and the main approaches to its organization and conduct in higher education institutions are highlighted, the semantic aspects of its understanding are presented. A number of modern forms in the educational process of higher education institutions have been identified: master classes, podcasts, blogs, web blogs, quests, web quests, etc. The focus is on one of the newest forms of organizing students’ independent work – a web quest. It turned out that the web quest is not a children’s game on a social network, but a constructive approach to learning, an interesting, focused and promising activity that resembles a role play among students. It is proved that students, choosing and performing various roles (search, research) in the Internet, explore the educational problem in various aspects, then present it online or offline. The main requirements for the organization of independent work of future teachers: scripting a web-quest, defining the main roles, participants, work plan, main tasks, dividing students into groups (subgroups), motivating them for joint cognitive search activities, a list of Internet sources, links to websites on the topic, problems; formulation of criteria and parameters for web quest evaluation; drawing conclusions. A web-quest on the subject “Methods of organizing and conducting holidays and entertainment in preschool education” for future educators is offered. It is emphasized that the use of Web-quests in teaching while doing independent work changes the traditional educational process of higher education to a non-traditional approach to learning the subject, makes it personally interested, qualitative and valuable, promotes students’ interests, enhances their independent cognitive activity.
