Abstract

The development of flexible skills (critical thinking, IT-orientation, creativity, cross-industry specialization, multilingualism) is best provided by the STEAM-approach to learning, which organically intertwines science, mathematical literacy, making, technology, information and art awareness. The ways of research activities of students in physics lessons are indicated: educational projects, mini-researches, laboratory works, physical practicum, experiment and extracurricular activities through research work in the IAS system, group work, intellectual competitions and educational activities. STEAM-practicum in physics is considered as a synthesis of educational project and physical practicum, as an example of innovative activity of students. STEAM-workshop works can be both short-term and long-term, depending on the complexity of the tasks, the availability of appropriate equipment, the location of the study, the number of participants, and so on. Some examples of STEAM-workshop work that can be done in physics lessons are considered: Research of light color gamut. Measurement of relative humidity. Investigation of the phenomenon of electrolysis. Determination of the center of mass of flat bodies. Determination of a sample of precious metals. Examination of body surfaces in a digital microscope. The range of STEAM workshops can be extremely wide. The number of mini-studies in the work may vary depending on the class, project duration, etc. Requirements for STEAM-workshop works are formulated. Technological cards of STEAM-workshop works can be submitted in the form of instructions, educational presentations, quests, QR-codes, etc.
