MULTIFACETED ANALYSIS OF THE PHENOMENON OF “CONTINUING EDUCATION SYSTEM”

Abstract

The presentation of the information content of the article is based on the content analysis of scientific works, which deals with certain aspects of the problem of continualeducation. In particular, the relevance of the implementation of continuing education, the purpose of its implementation, the views on the process of implementation of continuing education. The analysis of scientific works serves the separation of semantic units of information, which are considered as important for the presentation of the essence of the concept of “system of continuous education”. Continual education is considered: as a leading factor in the social and economic development of society; as a process that encompasses all human life; as a complex entity, the essence of which is transmitted using tokens such as: "education throughout life”, “continuous professional (vocational) education, “continuous pedagogical education”. The emphasis is on the reasons for the functioning and development of the system of continuous education in the era of the information society and the era of knowledge society. The author's interpretation of the concept of "system of continuous education" is given. The peculiarities of the formation and development of the system of continuous education are analyzed, the essence of the initial-partial, continuation-partial and holistic-through-directions directions of the deployment of these processes is singled out and disclosed. The consideration of the essence of the concept of “system of continual education” is aimed at disclosing two approaches to the interpretation of the essence of the concept, the generalization of the scientific views of leading scholars of Ukraine with regard to the goal of a system-based factor in the implementation of the system of continual education, specification of the legislative and regulatory framework, vertical and horizontal structural organization. As well as attributing to the subject-oriented components of the system of continual education of children and youth education and adult education, and to medium-oriented – formal, informal and informal education.
