MODERN APPROACHES TO THE PROBLEM OF PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF HUMANISTIC PSYCHOLOGY

Abstract

The article examines the psychological features of personal development as a purposeful, multifaceted self-change of the individual, during which the maximum moral-ethical and activitypractical self-enrichment and self-disclosure of the individual takes place; constant self-growth aimed at successful self-actualization of one’s internal resources and self-realization in social and professional life. It is shown that the path to personal maturity is accompanied by changes in self-determination, self-knowledge, self-realization, and self-improvement and is closely related to professional self-determination. Personal and professional self-development is considered a type of individual activity aimed at a positive change in a person’s personal and professional qualities and properties. It is carried out consciously and systematically, determined by a person’s internal values and life goals. An essential aspect of the process of personal and professional development is its connection with a person’s general life expectations and attitudes. Student age is the most sensitive period for professional and personal self-development. The most critical neoplasms in adolescence are the development of a worldview, the realization of a holistic self-image, the formation of a stable self-concept, the appearance of life plans, and the active functioning of personal and professional self-determination processes. Psycho-spiritual resources of the individual play a vital role in actualizing these processes. The analysis of the actualization process of the psychospiritual resources of the individual at the stage of professionalization made it possible to distinguish their components: motivational-value, cognitive-meaningful, reflectiveactive, and spiritual-existential, and to analyze the peculiarities of their functioning in the process of professional training of future psychologists, students of WUNU.
