Abstract. The research is devoted to a complex socio-geographical analysis of the effectiveness of using the greenfield territory as one of the tools of the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. The article considered the essence of the concept of “investment” and its relationship with greenfield territories, and carried out a comparative analysis of investment provision in certain regions of Ukraine. In order to obtain a quantitative assessment of the profitability of the use of “free” lands in the process of post-war reconstruction, a number of mathematical calculations were carried out, which made it possible to choose the most effective option for their further use. The theoretical foundations of the study of greenfield areas were formed, a comprehensive socio-geographic analysis of indicators of the country's investment activity was carried out, and the main directions of the use of greenfield areas during the post-war reconstruction of the country were identified, which can become the “foundation” for further scientific studies of human geography.
