CLASSIFICATION OF DIFFERENT GROUPS OF RECIPIENTS OF SOCIAL SERVICES ACCORDING TO SIGNS OF SOCIAL MALADJUSTMENT, EXCLUSION AND VULNERABILITY

Abstract

The problem of social maladaptation, vulnerability, exclusion and discrimination of the individual appears especially acutely in connection with the military situation, social and political instability in Ukraine. Regardless of the fact that the mentioned states of personality or social situations are interconnected and flow from each other, the article presents the classification of different groups of recipients according to the signs of maladaptation, exclusion and vulnerability, allows to systematize approaches to social work with them, clarify criteria and choose models of provision social services to them, which is especially relevant in wartime conditions. In the article, recipients of social services are grouped into three groups (individuals in a state of social maladjustment as a result of risky, destructive or deviant behavior; individuals and groups suffering from social exclusion and discrimination; individuals and families in special a vulnerable state associated with natural or social disasters or distinct individual characteristics), the main characteristics of each of them are defined. An analysis of the specifics of social work with the named groups of service recipients was carried out and the criteria based on which representatives of different groups can be provided with preventive, maintenance and support social services and preventive, rehabilitative and corrective interventions were carried out in relation to them. It was determined that a social work specialist should be able to determine the state of social maladjustment, vulnerability, exclusion and discrimination of an individual in a specific case, analyze its causes, predict consequences, find and apply appropriate models of social work or adapt and improve existing practices. The article emphasizes that the content and methods of intervention should always be based on an assessment of the unique social situation and individual needs of each recipient.
