DEVELOPMENT OF THE SPIRITUALITY OF MODERN YOUTH IN THE PROCESS OF PROFESSIONAL FORMATION

Abstract

The article substantiates the necessity of teaching modern youth humanities, emphasizing that knowledge acquires real value only when it contributes to the improvement of humanity. Such moral principles as humanity, mercy, mutual aid, faith and love for people, which were established by Christianity and became the basis of the new culture, are discussed. The importance of integrating these values into the education system for the purpose of forming a harmonious and morally mature personality is highlighted. It is submitted that the reform of the national education system in the context of cultural, social, intellectual, spiritual and economic development of society necessitates the training of a new generation of specialists. Such specialists must be able to understand pedagogical realities, take into account the experience of the past and function effectively in the conditions of a multicultural educational environment. This idea is reflected in regulatory documents that define modern European humanitarian policy, taking into account national characteristics and spiritual values. It was found that in the context of Ukraine’s integration into the international educational community, one of the key ideas of education is the principle of cultural relevance. This principle determines the content of the educational process, which is based on universal human values, as well as on the values and norms of national culture and regional traditions. The formation of spiritual values of future primary school teachers during the educational process plays an important role in the formation of an individual who will be able to adequately represent his country and respect representatives of other cultures. In the article, spiritual values are defined as a specific type of values that maximally correspond to a person’s essential strengths and contribute to his optimal self-realization. They are the basis of the humanization of social relations and the affirmation of a person as the highest value in the hierarchy of values. It is noted that a society concerned about the prospects of its «future» is almost always subject to the problem of the transmission of spiritual values. Another thing is that at the turning points in history, the lack of cultural transmission, the breakdown of traditional values lead to distortion and simplification in the spiritual sphere of the individual.
