Abstract

The article identifies the main tasks and found ways to implement them in military-patriotic education of high school students in general secondary education institutions. A study of scientific literature on the issue of military-patriotic education of high school students was conducted. It was determined that military-patriotic education is focused on the formation of a deep patriotic consciousness, on the idea of serving the Motherland, respect for one's country, preservation and multiplication of glorious patriotic traditions. It has been established that this direction of work in institutions of general secondary education is the most relevant nowadays, as the prestige of military service has fallen sharply. The purpose of the work of general secondary education institutions on military and patriotic education is specified, namely: to bring to high school students an understanding of greatness, spiritual beauty, heroism, nobility, devotion to high ideals and, on this basis, to establish a sense of self-respect and great responsibility for everything that she is doing now and that she has to do in the future. It was revealed that for the organization of military-patriotic work in general secondary education institutions, it is first necessary to create an information base, on the basis of which all further work will be built. It has been proven that a great role in the organization of military-patriotic work is played by the cooperation of various institutions and museums, since they are the custodians and propagandists of relics that tell about important pages of the history of our nation. It has been established that the content of such work allows to reveal the causes of the most important historical events, to analyze the grandiose scale of major battles, the creative plans of our hetmans, to depict the images of heroes, their exploits. It was found that with the help of information and communication technologies and extensive preparatory work of the teacher, using music and film footage, artistic and lighting design, staging, montage, songs, using relics, documents, works of literature and art, it is possible to fully show the succession of generations, heroic feats of the past and present.
