THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AS A FACTOR OF RESPONSIBILITY FORMATION IN PRESCHOOLERS

The article reveals the concept of the natural environment as a whole living organism, which enables air, soil, water, plants, animals and humans to interact. Responsibility is characterized as a basic personal quality of a preschooler, manifested in the willingness to take responsibility for the actions, a serious attitude to responsibilities, the ability to give preference to duty over entertainment, keeping the word. The category of “environmental responsibility” and its functions are defined, namely: regulatory, cognitive, motivational, prognostic and educational. The educational direction “Child in the natural environment” of the Basic component of preschool education is characterized and the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for realization of the responsible attitude to the natural environment are singled out. Scientific approaches to defining the concept of natural and ecological competence are analyzed. It is determined that natural and ecological competences are an integral part of the preschool education and personal heritage, reflecting the system of cognitive (knowledge of nature and interaction with it), emotional (ecological assessment) and behavioral components (environmental behavior). The conditions for the formation of a preschooler’s responsible behavior to the natural environment are outlined: to provide clear knowledge about the norms and rules of behavior in the natural environment; to consolidate the child’s emotional need for caring about nature; to provide opportunities to gain personal experience of responsible attitude to natural objects; to take care of systematic acquaintance of children with qualities and properties of the natural environment, its value for human life; to teach the child to properly save water, energy resources and sort waste, in order to reduce their number and to prevent environmental catastrophe; to involve parents in the process of formation of the child’s natural and ecological competence.
