INDEPENDENT WORK IN THE PROCESS OF PREPARING STUDENTS FOR TEACHING CIVIC AND HISTORICAL EDUCATION IN PRIMARY SCHOOL

Abstract

The article reveals the potential of independent work tasks for the generalization and systematization of students’ knowledge from the educational component «Methodology of teaching civic and historical educational field». The urgency of the problem is due to the introduction of mixed learning, according to which a significant part of the educational material is allocated for independent study. Therefore, the tasks of independent work must be planned, clearly formulated, and understandable for students to perform. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the content of students’ independent work in the process of studying the course «Methodology of teaching civic and historical education». Achieving the goal was achieved by solving a number of tasks: 1) to clarify the essence of the concept of «independent work of students»; 2) to reveal the potential of independent work to generalize and systematize students’ knowledge from the educational component «Methodology of teaching in the civic and historical field of education». It is noted that independent work is a logical continuation of classroom classes and is organized in parallel with them; helps future specialists to study successfully, develop initiative, promotes physical, mental, and aesthetic education, satisfies their educational needs and directs their activity to creative and useful activities. Independent work is defined as one of the forms of learning from a certain educational component, which is organized by the teacher outside classroom time using various tools (textbooks, manuals, Internet networks, platforms) and is aimed at summarizing, systematizing and identifying the levels of knowledge of students from this educational component; education of independence, self-organization, self-control, self-presentation and other personal qualities. The use of various types of independent work tasks contributes to the deepening of knowledge of the program material on the teaching methodology of the civic and historical educational field. Subjects of tasks for independent work of students from the specified educational component are proposed.
