Abstract

The article examines the linguistic and regional aspect of studying the Ukrainian language in the process of onomastics research. The need to form students' knowledge about onomastics is substantiated, which is due to the need in the conditions of the national revival of Ukrainian society to increase the effectiveness of the educational process, to find effective means of pedagogical influence on the personality of students in order to increase interest in learning the native language. Proper names are rich material that will help to delve into the history and geography of the native land. It is known that various aspects of the history of the people, their creator – life, occupation, production, customs, outlook, plant and animal life, etc., were reflected in their own names. In this regard, proper names serve as auxiliary sources for the study of the general history of the people. Proper names are especially important for the study of the lexical richness of the language, since they often contain the names of many concepts and objects that have long gone out of use or were not documented in written records in the past. In proper names, the researcher will find reliable material for the study of dialectical phenomena (at different language levels), interlanguage contacts, etc. Onomastic studies will help to form in future primary school teachers their own motivation to use organizational forms of linguistic and regional studies work in future pedagogical activities due to awareness of the humanistic, personoriented, socio-pedagogical and psychological role of onomastic knowledge in the education of a national-linguistic personality; o form, consolidate and expand theoretical knowledge of the basics of linguistic and regional studies work of younger schoolchildren, to develop the skills and abilities of independent implementation of the main organizational forms of linguistic and regional studies work with younger schoolchildren, as well as the skills and abilities of research work in this field of pedagogy; to attract future classroom teachers to the national and cultural traditions of the native region, taking into account the system of universal human values and Ukrainian culture; to cultivate a sense of patriotism, pride for one's people, a desire to work for the good of Ukraine.
