THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL HERITAGE OF I. OHIENKO IN THE FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE UKRAINIAN NATIONAL SCHOOL

Abstract

In scientific and methodological research the significance of I. Ogienko's scientific and methodological heritage is determined in the fact that he developed his own concept of national school, which was based on the principles of accessibility, nationality, free primary education, native language of the educational process. It was emphasized that the scientist attached great importance to the national school for the Ukrainian people, which in addition to the educational function, should ensure the formation of the national spirit of students, their culture and traditions. The article describes the linguistic and linguodidactic heritage of I. Ogienko, analyzes textbooks and manuals on the Ukrainian language for primary school students, reveals pedagogical approaches to mastering the Ukrainian literary language. The content and structure of I. Ogienko's textbooks "Native Scripture. Ukrainian grammar: Fundamentals of Ukrainian spelling: Textbook for the 1st year of study","Grammar of Lesya Lesya"," Ukrainian language. Bibliographic index of literature for the study of the Ukrainian language","The science of native language responsibilities". I. Ogienko’s special merit is emphasized on researches of the scientist of native-language duties of citizens. The scientific and methodological research describes the methodological views of I. Ogienko on the construction of visual aids - tables, drawings, illustrations. Attention is focused on scientific and linguistic achievements, educational and methodical recommendations of the outstanding Ukrainian scientist, linguist, teacher, methodologist, translator, state and cultural-educational figure I. Ogienko, which remain relevant for primary school teachers of the New Ukrainian School.
