Abstract

The article examines the problem of developing communication among younger schoolchildren by means of developmental games. Inadequate development of the problem, its importance for improving the educational process of the new Ukrainian school and meeting the requirements of modern society led to the study of theoretical and practical aspects of the problem of using developmental games in primary school. The research and publications are analyzed, the purpose of the research is defined, and a number of questions devoted to the coverage of the state of research of the problem in modern scientific literature are outlined. The importance of games in the educational process is characterized, which is due primarily to increasing the creative and searching activity of children of primary school age. Correspondence of the raised problem to modern requirements of education, its significance for the development of communication of younger schoolchildren, as well as insufficient processing of the issue in theoretical and practical aspects determined the relevance of the topic. The following research methods were used in the research: analysis, comparison, generalization, systematization, critical understanding of works on pedagogy, to determine the theoretical foundations of the problem. Games that bring potential opportunities for children's creative expression are highlighted: developmental games. The meaning of the term "developmental games" is substantiated, the sphere of the child's personality, on which the pedagogical influence is directed, is emphasized. Developmental games allow students to participate in adult affairs and promote the activation of children's contacts with each other, which are accompanied by complex expressions. Children in communication with each other and with the teacher in the process of educational games learn the skills of oriented communication and its culture. The effectiveness of the organization of communication increases if children are in conditions similar to natural ones, if their communication with each other approaches that which exists in adult life, when the need for communication is satisfied.
